Thursday, June 4, 7:00 pm – 8:45 pm, Bethlehem Public Library, 451 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY. Are AI Data Centers Coming to the Capital Region Soon? Why are AI Data centers popping up all over the US? Do we need these AI Data Centers? What are the energy and water requirements and how will those demands effect our community? What can we do to stop the building of AI data centers in our community? We will have Oliver Holmes Jr. PE, talk about the current proposed plan for a data center in the City of Albany, on the border of the Town of Bethlehem now being referred to as “Kenwood Tech Center”. He will also give a brief talk about what AI Data Centers are, where there are being built, and give some of the reasons we don’t want them in our community. (Oliver has worked on energy conservation, climate change and sustainability issues for 40 years.) We will also have local community organizer, Isaac Silberman-Gorn, join us to talk about the local situation. ( Isaac is a community organizer specializing in political analysis and grassroots mobilizing who has worked to oppose fracking and in support of a clean energy future for New York for about 15 years. ) A discussion will follow the presentations. We have limited seating available, so come early to be sure you can attend this forum. Come join us for this timely forum. Information: 518-466-1192
